The area around Samoëns is excellent for walkers with over 900km of marked trails. The trails vary from easy routes along the valley of the River Giffre to serious mountain hiking up to 3100m altitudes. Some of the ski-lifts remain open during the peak summer season - check the local Tourist Office in Samoens for details.

Trails are well marked and are easily followed using a map (or you may prefer to use the expertise of a local guide) - for more information try www.guidesmontagne.com or e-mail to guidesamoens@free.fr

Mountain Biking

There are ~600 km of marked mountain bike tracks in the 'Grand-Massif' area. There are routes of varying lengths and difficulties to suit all abilities. Several chair lifts are open in the summer and are adapted to take your bikes which makes life easier!

Bikes and helmets can be hired in the village of Samoëns or we can arrange this for you.
